BIG FREEDIA RESCHEDULES HATTIESBURG SHOW AFTER TWERKING DEEMED LAWFUL: ANNOUNCES FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL TWERK DAY!
Just two weeks after the highly publicized show at The Dollar Box Showroom was cancelled in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the Queen of New Orleans Bounce, Big Freedia, rescheduled her performance for Friday, March 25.
Big Freedia, who has performed in Mississippi numerous times, was heartbroken last month when the show was cancelled after State Alcohol Beverage Control warned that Twerking might be in violation of Mississippi codes.
“Thankfully we came to an understanding with the ABC that twerking did not violate any laws in Mississippi,” says Big Freedia. “I can’t wait to turn it up with my fans in Mississippi!” and adds: “To celebrate, I’m making this the First Annual International Twerk Day!”
Big Freedia, who was on Beyonce’s latest “Formation” single, released her own single “I Heard,” here.
