Live Review on Ellenwood-ep.com and Photos by: Crystin Wiegers “It was plenty of beats, banter and beer that made those in attendance at People Under the Stairs’ El Rey show on Sunday night feel like they were at the best holiday party of the season, complete with Christmas carols and all. PUTS version of A Wonderful Christmas Time featured Double K behind the drumkit and a beat Thes One had just made the day before.

The hip-hop duo performed for a packed house as one of their last stops on the Highlighter World Tour. Thes took crowd interaction to a whole new level when he started sharing his beer with a fan during Pass the 40. Clearly pumped to perform in front of a hometown audience, Thes and Double K made it clear that to them, there is no place like home. After spotting a Lakers’ colored LA hat in the crowd, Thes offered to trade hats with its owner, saying “that’s my whole life right there.” (Thes reluctantly gave the hat back after a few songs). Being laid back yet completely energized seems contradictory, but it was this exact combo that left everyone wanting more, even after a four song encore. To read entire article, click here.
