Queer Electro Duo Double Duchess Release Debut LP 'ALL EYES ON ME'

Most known for their explosive and mesmerizing live performances, Bay Area electro-queer duo Double Duchess are bringing their high-energy electro club music to fans in their debut album, All Eyes on Me. Produced by group member and DJ/producer, David Richardson a.k.a davO, All Eyes On Me features guest appearances from artists like the late Nicky Da B, TT the Artist, and Future People.

On their latest project, the two remain fierce and vigorously innovative. On the Grace Jones cover, "Bullshit," DD set their original lyrics against a bed of moody ballroom house. The title track specifically speaks to the life of "sugar babies", and how that concept has existed in the gay world for a while now, but not openly talked about.

"The title of the record represents the pressure that we feel as artists in today's society to always be on," notes Richardson. "With social media, there's the overwhelming pressure of self-promotion and of creating a one dimensional being, when we are really complex humans."

The story of this queer renegade duo started in the early 90s. Vocalist Krylon Superstar’s days of an underground diva began in NYC, working and traveling as a Club Kid (Limelight). While performing in the vogue scene, Krylon developed a reputation for his captivating performance art numbers and expanded internationally to a second home of Berlin. Vocalist/Producer davO grew up performing & rapping in the live music scene, however found more traction in the club/party music scene after relocating to San Francisco in 2007. Through his 15 years of music production and DJing, his influences of Baltimore club, Jersey house, and percussion breaks, can be heard on stage and during his sets, also lending itself to his track record of creating the freshest queer parties in SF (Swagger Like Us).

Double Duchess released two EPs, 2012's "Hey Girl!" and "Nocturnal" in 2014, two singles, and numerous video releases--including the much buzzed about “Good Girl Freak Out” directed by JB Ghuman featuring a cameo by Kelly Osbourne. They’ve shared stages with Big Freedia, Cakes da Killa, Nicky Da B, Peaches, and Le1f.

Double Duchess delicately walks the fine lines of where hip-hop and club music meet, the point where queer and straight subcultures coexist, and where pure fun outweighs pretentiousness every time.
